A brief history of the Talluri family
We can say that the Talluri family is indigenous to Chianti, based on references in historical documents to a Talluri family presence in various towns in the area. In the Historical Archives of the Diocese of Florence, we find that in 1605 the priest of the Church of San Miniato a Sicelle and then of the Church of S.Giusto a Ricavo was Don Simone di Ser Giovanni di Lorenzo Talluri. This same Don Simone also built a chapel with an oratory near the Rectory of
Panzano in Chianti, dedicated to Saints Simon and Jude, in 1633. Similarly, in the Archives of the Diocese of
Fiesole it is reported that in 1720 Don Domenico Talluri was the priest at
Lamole.
These and many other historical references show that the Talluri family was well-established in the
Chianti Classico wine territory, owning land and producing oil from at least the beginning of 1500 with Ser Lorenzo Talluri. Our family has cultivated grapes and olives in the municipality of Radda in Chianti for many generations, at Tegline farm, at Scovo farm and in the commercial centre of La Gallina farm near Lucarelli in Chianti. It is this love of our territory combined professional experience that has allowed us to restore Tegline farm and to adapt it for receiving
guests who can hear directly from the owner, Giovanni Talluri, everything about its history and its special rural atmosphere.
